Reviews about Mercure Letchworth Hall Hotel
- 3 / 5By Kate ReevesA group of friends stayed here on a Groupon deal, as were many other guests. Reception staff were friendly and helpful, as were the staff who were serving food in the bar. Rooms were clean and there was little noise from other guests. The evening meal was nice and they catered for my gluten free friend. However some of the menu choices differed significantly for the gluten free choice and this wasn't explained (for example, instead of white chocolate cheesecake she was given chocolate brownie). Her gluten free bread was also served still in the plastic bag it came in, which was odd! Breakfast was extremely busy at 9:30 and we had to sit in the bar, which made eating from the low tables awkward. Hot breakfast items were running out so we asked for more, but were told that the chef had "refused" to cook more bacon, so had to go without, which was disappointing. Overall a reasonable night's stay for a group of friends and good value, but I wouldn't come back as a romantic stay for a couple.February 17, 2017
- 1 / 5By Natasha FordThis hotel has all the making to be great until trying to use the bath and it only filled up to my wrist level of water after running it for 30mins it wouldn't fill up. then we went to go to sleep and the bedroom in all 4 of the room my family stayed in it music was so so loud as we where right above the dance floor well that's how it felt it stopped around 12 but the noise from the people at the party just carried on and considering we travel down to get rest before the rest of our long trip it was discussing considering we weren't even warned when checking in even though the staff will have known where the rooms were situated. The place was lovely looking but I would check before you book where you rooms would be in relation to the function room.January 29, 2017
- 4 / 5By Ian CollieLovely, quiet period hotel. Room was clean, comfortable, of a reasonable size and modern. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was very good and the bar is cheaper than I expected for a hotel.
The attached leisure facilities are free to use for guests and are clean and in good condition. I made use of the pool and sauna.
Probably not the best choice for families with young children due to a lack of facilities for the young, but great for couples.
Overall a very pleasant stay.January 12, 2017 - 1 / 5By Malcolm KingWe have been visiting Letchworth Hall Hotel for many years. Our wedding reception was held here and since then have held various anniversary/birthday receptions here.
As it is nearby we also regularly eat here for dinner. I have though recently noticed a change in attitude of the restaurant staff. This evening we had a disagreement about our use of the "Taste Card" before our meal. The dispute ended in the four of us walking out before dining. We will not be returning until the attitude & manners of the staff improves.September 19, 2016 - 2 / 5By Sebastian HerreraWe have been to this hotel on 3 separate weekends. I'm also a Accor Hotels loyalty card holder. On the 3 occasions we have visited, the hotel have had a "disco" night events. So if you are agree a good night sleep then I would highly recommend you do not book this hotel for a quiet relaxing weekend. On our last booking the hotel checked us into room 84, which is the room above the nightclub function room. The hotel should warn guest before taking reservations that it is going to be a noisy event. Especially if they give you room 84.August 12, 2016
